Only a few days until the green flag drops at the 2021 Daytona 24 Hours Race. And we cannot stand the excitment. We have weeks of preparation behind us and we are really looking forward to finally fighting our first big event as a brand new team.
We will field two vehicles. On the one hand, an LMP2 powered by Maximilian Fritz, Jörn von Wendt, David Gaspers, Casper de Kort and Julian Bell, and on the other one, a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 driven by our drivers Max Riedmüller, Jason Cooper, Jelle Wolters and Rune Janssens.
We put all our hopes into making it to the top split with the GT3. Thanks to the new registration procedure on the part of iRacing, this is anything but impossible. First projections of preior events predict an SOF of around 5.5k iRating for the GT3. That would be a doable task.
The situation is slightly different with our LMP2. With an average rating of around 5.0k, we will certainly not get into the top split. It is even to be assumed that we will have to worry about second split.
This is mainly due to the fact that many of the pro teams will naturally compete for the overall win. Of course, this artificially increases the iRating needed.
Without further ado, it just remains to be said that we are really looking forward to the coming weekend. Of course we’re hoping for a little more luck than in the past two races of the DNLS and also the BMW Sim GT Cup.
Both races ended quite unlucky for us, with some major contact in the wall.
Let’s get this done!
